Street Food Market – Yas, Du Forum, Abu Dhabi
Food truck season is always on and this time it has come to Abu Dhabi at Du forum in Yas Island. Featuring from last weekend to the next it is one of the experiences you got to taste! The Street Food market here is created as an indoor event and makes sure it’s made super comfortable to all. Some of the best street food vendors under one roof are serving fusion, burgers, tacos, sushi, pastas and much more. Apart from food they have also arranged a wide selection of drinks including beer, cocktails & mock tails. Since this is a family event they have got some activities for both the adults and kids too with hula hoops, mechanical bull ride, live performances and local DJ. The kids also get to enjoy some candy & popcorn too.
I loved the décor with all the dangling bulbs, the wooden chair & table concept, comfy beans bags and much more made it a perfect setting. We started our culinary experience first with
- SIR LOIN & SONS: they describe themselves as a gourmet eatery serving some of the best meat & burgers. We chose to try the “Pulled beef brisket” (AED 45/-) – slow cooked for several hours the meat is delicious served in potato bun with onions and sauce was simple & tasty.
- MIA STRADA: here you get to feast on Italian cuisine and what couldn’t get better with creamy pastas and risotto. My eyes popped seeing the menu with “Wild Forest Mushroom Risotto” (AED 40/-) and went ahead with it. The creamy risotto is highly recommended topped with mild pepper & shreds of cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The very sight of creamy pasta swirled on the parmesan bowl will make you fall.
- CALLE TACOS: it was time to enjoy some Mexican flavors and on we went to Calle tacos to get of course the “Shrimp Tacos” (AED 45/-) Prepared right in front of you, once done the filling is topped with sauce & served with few colorful crispy tortillas. I chose to have the lime Jarrito as well which was refreshing. The tacos were perfect, messy but delicious.
- KEKI: We ended our experience with the popular “Japanese Fluffy cheesecake”. The mini cheesecake was super soft & light in both texture & flavor. Make sure to grab these. The Matcha rolls would be a good option too.
Apart from these you get to enjoy Sushis as well from the popular Moshi counter serving you unique choices for both seafood & vegetarian lovers. Hooked serves some of the Asian style burgers and then there is the Shawarma station giving you the local taste. One interesting truck that I found was the Mastiha shop where you get to try some Juices which contains a star ingredient (Mastic or Arabic gum called Mastiha in Middle east) – known for its amazing health benefits will make sure to please you.
The Street food market is not to be missed and will be held till next weekend which is May12th & 13th (Friday & Saturday) held at Du Forum in Yas Island. A fun filled day for you and your entire family! #streetfoodmarket
